Only thing that is holding me back from using FreeBSD (and other BSD) is hardware compatibility. Linux supports far more hardware devices, such as SATA controller/HBA and network cards, it seems. I've used FreeBSD (and other BSD) and it was really pleasant to see a well laid out and well thought out OS, unlike Linux which felt like a collection of after thoughts.
