Just using Metacritic to rank games is flat out wrong.
Metacritic is literally black magic, not only different reviewers have different weights based on some internal "worthiness" never disclosed, different scales are just put together carelessly and worse of all, some subjective reviews are just assigned random numbers based on the "tone".
Add this to the fact that publishers are writing contracts that define targets as Metacritic scores [0] and you get something like comparing codebases not even by SLOC, but by uploading to a proprietary web service and it then spits out an arbitrary number.
It just smacks of pedantry, which diminishes your entire point.
So few games ever hit a 90, deus ex HR was amazing. Sorry it didn't take the direction you wanted.
